About Yang Dexin

Mr Yang Dexin is a First-Class Artist of China, a Senior Calligraphy Technician of China, Art Director of the Beijing Fashion Classic Art Center, a painter of the Qinghai Painting Academy, a director of the Beijing Zhongyi United Art Academy, Honorary President of the Kunshan Overseas Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Art Education Director of Shuoli Haoxue International Education.

Born on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, he settled in Suzhou, south of the Yangtze, in his thirties. The boldness of the plateau and the elegance of Jiangnan gave him a distinctive artistic outlook and temperament. A versatile artist who deeply combines rational innovation with artistic practice, he has broken through the limits of traditional art forms and shaped a style and creativity of his own. A devoted believer in art, he is convinced that art is not only an expression of feeling but a union of reason and creativity. His work is full of the spirit of exploration and seeks to prompt viewers to think and to promote the diverse development of art and society.

In 2024 his original “Cloud-and-Water script” (云水书体) calligraphy received copyright protection and became an important part of his work. The Cloud-and-Water script gives the work a distinctive sense of movement through flow and rhythm, carrying the depth of calligraphy while showing his own spirit of artistic renewal.

Mr Yang graduated in painting from university and once taught art at a teachers’ college; he is now active as a professional painter. Since the 1990s he has shown his talent to the world through solo and joint exhibitions. His paintings have been published and reprinted in China’s mainstream media. His work has repeatedly won national and regional exhibition awards, and many pieces are held in museums and private collections.

Representative works (Chinese titles): 《辫头》, 《崛起的历程》, 《晨》, 《孟达意境》, 《天宫仙仗图》, 《昨天的梦想今天建》, 《岁月如歌》, 《戏中戏》
